a scene in two seasons

Another buoy arrived today!

It's by Durene Martin, and I must say, I love it! There are two images painted on the buoy - or rather the same image in two seasons.

On one side is a cabin in summer with lupines blooming and a birch tree in the foreground, and on the other side is the same scene in winter with the cabin's roof topped with snow in a field of white.
The detail on this buoy is just lovely - the sort of thing I always wish I could do (or rather have the patience for!), and I so admire people who can.
...but at least I get to photograph them!

Three buoys so far! Thank you, Durene, Stephanie, and Elaine!
Lots more to go before August 10th!

The CrossWOmen are on a roll!

Elaine Crossman is the second to finish her buoy, featuring a trio of black birds on white....and had such a good time that she's requested another! Til then, hope you enjoy these shots! Can't wait for August 10th!

(P.S. The first buoy was by Stephanie Crossman, well known on the island (and beyond) for her beautiful netted bags!)

a buoy!

It was like Christmas at my house today with the arrival of our very first completed buoy!
I dashed out immediately to photograph it (ah, the novelty of a new toy), and hope you all enjoy!
Can anyone guess whose it might be???
